Women’s Federation For World Peace | 25th Anniversary Celebration
Igniting a Culture of Heart from local to global

Fueled by hardships and showered by unity, love and light, WFWP USA Arizona Chapter was able to reach a miraculous milestone forthe Women’s Federation For World Peace 25th Anniversary Celebration – Igniting a Culture of Heart: From Local to Global and Launching the Global Women’s Peace Network, Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Tempe, Arizona.

The event began with an eccentric and powerful opening prayer by Rev. Betty Tataljski, Founder of the Temple of Universality of Tucson followed by a generous welcome and introduction to all of the distinguished guests of Women’s Federation for World Peace by Katarina Connery the WFWP USA Vice President.

The vibrant morning session began with many inspiring and touching women speakers such as Ms. InHaa Namvula who spoke to us about her story and the truth she has lived. She came as a refugee from the Republic Democratic of Congo at the age of 5. She shared with us the honors and hardships of the civil war alongside her stories of survival, hope and overcoming obstacles as a refugee in the United States. Furthermore, Ms. Sherrie Nattrasswas another speaker well known for her personal branding and life coach with her story of how to take care of yourself and the incomparable power of gratitude. Then Ms. Aimmee Kodachian of AKExperts TV Productions from Las Vegas, Nevada graced us with her unforgettable message, where she was introduced by Ms. Stephanie Thompson performing her original number composition called “Rise Above”, the songs lyrics gives us a serene message of overcoming and becoming victorious despite the trials we face and her personal story of losing a brother who had passed in front of her from a stray bullet during the Lebanon war, as well as overcoming her fight with dyslexia and how she made it into her strength in becoming a teacher of experts!

These speakers blessed the event with their personal stories that touched all of our hearts and made each person realize how grateful each on of us was to be all-together in that room, living in the same moment. They truly were a pillar of hope for us all!

If you are talking about entertainment, WFWP Arizona Chapter has it all! For entertainment we were serenaded by the wonderful song bird, Miles King in her rendition of Funky Town and We Will Survive Medleys. The Rascapetatiando Dance Company of Frank Ornelas composed of 20 beautiful and talent-filled young Mexican dancers made everyone want to dance in their seats! This dance company is filled with passion, tradition and world classtalent! Being together as a group for 9 months has not set them back one bit! Frank Ornelas is a genius and it shows that he has invested all of his time and hard work into creating a refreshing environment for these children.

Continued by the Arizona beauty queens with a “Pageant of Hearts” parade gathering every queen from different ethnic backgrounds and what it means for them being an empowered woman today! The Latina beauty queens from FADAMA alongside the Elegantly Green and Glamorously Green Family showcasing the beauty of all women and honoring the mothers. This was Led by Miss Emily Ramirez; Miss Teen Universe Utah 2017, Miss Asia Espiritu Dising; Miss Interstellar Universe USA 2017, Miss Kyi Sint; Miss Arizona Earth United States 2016, Rebecca Jo Acero; Miss Arizona United Continents U.S 2017, Miss Stephanie Flores; Miss Teen Arizona Latina 2017 and Miss Arizona Latina 2017 accompanied by many more outstanding role models in the community.

After lunch, we were able to witness and soak in a few other world class entertainers, starting off with a rendition of “One Family Under God” sang by the sister duo, Kaela and Trina Forti! Their song was exquisite, touched our hearts and deserved that standing ovation right after they sang! Their song made everyone’s hearts full of joy transitioning right into the launching of the Global Women’s Peace Network given by the WFWP USA President; Ms Angelika Selle, Which was graciously introduced by the newly installed Chairwoman of the Global Women's Peace Network of Arizona, Mrs. Glenda Lambert. When it was time to sign the Proclamation of the Global Women’s Peace Network everyone was excited to stand up and sign! Arizona woman are truly ready and willing to take in any task of building a world of peace as we witnessed by the mixed delegations of women from many different walks of life to the many backgrounds each woman and guest possessed. This night was all about uniting together as one and setting aside differences to make the world a little better of a place to live in. We live by example and uplifting one another is key!

In conclusion of the awaited celebration, we highlighted and awarded 2 long time supporters of WFWP and partnership awards given to Elizabeth Inganamort of Falcons Guard Center and AimmeeKodachian of AKExperts TV Productions.

We also recognized 4 HerStory Awardees; which are outstanding women being recognized for their selfless contributions to the community on a local and global scale mixed in with their inspiring stories of making a difference in their respective fields of service to the society. The following were recognized by Rhia Nkulu the Women's Federation for World Peace Arizona Chairwoman and the Vice- Chairwoman Veronica Tashiro for their humbling achievements: Ms. Fleur Magbanua-Mansur, Miss Mai Le, Miss Sarah Cheriyan and the legendary basketball player, General Manager and Vice President of Phoenix Mercury and Phoenix Suns Basketball franchise; Ann Meyers Drysdale.

This event would not be possible without the support of all of the volunteers from everyone in Arizona, especially the Filipino and Latino Community lead by Ms. Naye Olvera who gathered all of the talents needed to create such a success, from our wonderful stage designer, Juan Garcia of TheOneDecoAZ, his magic touch and imagination gave our stage a touch of class and elegance! As well as Ms. Irma Deihlas our beautiful Emcee, Frank Ornelas’s RDC RascapetatiandoDance Company and the Latina Beauty Queens! Ms. Naye and Irma Deihl of De Mujer a Mujer radio and Sandra Pulido of VidaSocial radio gave the honor of their presence following this event to be aired on their radio shows many times and have invited Arizona’s finest!

Our ever wonderful, talented and humble DJ Geo Gonzaga of AZParty gave his time, efforts, resources and talented full service to this event from the early morning not even breaking a sweat!

We are also thankful that we have the best photography services of our WFWP Ambassador in Arizona; Dora Basaca of Basaca Art Photography and for Mr. Luke Higuchi who flew in from Las Vegas just to be with us.

We are always so grateful towards the dedication and commitments of all it’s volunteers, such as Ms. Karen Esguerra, the twins Yudidth and Abby Sanchez and Lucia Anderson as well as all of the Arizona youth ministry and the WFWP members who made this event come to life with amazing success despite our very first time hosting such a crowd! The event was sold out and we even had to add 2 tables to accommodate all of the guests that came! We would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for their never-ending support of our vision, for attending and for their participation. We are looking forward to our next projects together to ignite a culture of heart creating a worldwide movement and bring about Peace!
