President Marcos Highlights Contributions of FilAm Community in Recent Address

A delegation of Filipino-American business and community leaders from Arizona recently had the honor of attending a special event at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles. The occasion was marked by an address from Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., focusing on the integral role of the Filipino community in the United States.

The group in attendance included officers of the Filipino Business Chamber of Commerce of Arizona (FABCCA), the Federation of Philippine American Chambers of Commerce (FPACC), and the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) – Arizona.

Key Points from the President’s Address

President Marcos praised the global reputation of Filipinos, stating, “Everywhere I go… they have nothing but good things to say about Filipinos.” This comment underscores the worldwide respect and recognition earned by the Filipino community, celebrating their achievements in various sectors.

He specifically recognized the Filipino community in LA County and the surrounding regions, noting it as one of the largest Filipino communities outside of the Philippines. This acknowledgment highlights the prominent presence and influence of Filipino Americans in these areas.

A primary theme of the President’s speech was the appreciation for the Filipino community’s role in maintaining a strong reputation and serving as ambassadors of goodwill. He urged them to continue their positive contributions, both in their adopted homeland and towards the Philippines, thus enhancing cultural and economic connections.
