Candy hunts start at 8:20 a.m. in age categories for 1- to 10-year-olds. People with disabilities can take part in a hunt at 11 a.m. Participants also can meet and take pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Bunny, and enjoy a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, crafts, carnival games, and a climbing wall. The event honors Dolly Sanchez, the Peoria woman who started the event in 1976 as an Easter egg hunt for neighborhood children.
