Seafood City’s First Arizona Store Will Bring Filipino Market and Food Hall to Chandler
What we know so far
Seafood City is preparing to open its first Arizona location at Chandler Fashion Center, transforming part of the mall’s former Sears space on the upper level at 3111 W. Chandler Blvd. Known nationwide as a Filipino supermarket and dining destination, Seafood City has confirmed the Chandler store will include both a market and a food hall.
The Chandler Fashion Center location is part of the mall’s revitalization push, which has also welcomed new tenants like Round1 Bowling & Arcade and Scheels. Seafood City will anchor the east side with more than just groceries — it’s designed as a cultural and culinary hub.
Where it fits in Chandler
The East Valley has one of Arizona’s largest Filipino-American communities, making Chandler a natural choice for Seafood City’s debut in the state. Mall operator Macerich described the project as a way to connect with both the community and food lovers across the region. With easy access from Loop 101 and the Santan Freeway, the site is well-positioned to draw visitors from across Metro Phoenix.
What to expect: market + food hall
Shoppers can expect the familiar Seafood City experience:
- Filipino and Asian grocery staples, fresh produce, and specialty meats
- Whole fish and live seafood options on ice
- In-house restaurants like Grill City, Crispy Town, Baker’s Avenue, Noodle Street, and Sizzle
Other food hall concepts are likely, though the company says it will reveal the full lineup closer to opening. Via its social media outlet, Seafood City has also teased the idea of a Filipino hot pot or shabu-shabu concept — not yet official, but already generating excitement among fans.
What people are talking about
Online conversations highlight a mix of anticipation and curiosity:

- Requests for bakery staples like pandesal, ensaymada, and siopao
- Hope for dishes such as lechon, pork BBQ, halo-halo, and even chicken skins
- Interest in whether Red Ribbon or Chowking could join the food hall lineup
- Calls for future locations in the West Valley and Tucson
Hiring and “more to come”
Seafood City has stated that hiring information will be shared through its official channels. The company has also hinted at “more to come,” suggesting additional food concepts, events, or features may be announced as the store build-out continues.
