Mark Mabasa and Lani Misalucha Deliver a Valentine’s Night to Remember

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (Feb. 14, 2026) — Love Notes in the Desert packed The Showroom at Casino Arizona Talking Stick Resort on Valentine’s night, selling out ahead of showtime. The concert put Mark Mabasa on center stage, featuring Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha, and was presented in cooperation with NaFFAA Arizona and FABCCA East.

Ryan Arguillo, the Soulbird of AZ, opened the program with a few songs that eased the room into the evening and got the mood going before the main sets began.

Mabasa took the stage next with a mix of Filipino favorites, ballads, and upbeat songs. From the moment he stepped out, the room was his. The energy lifted and he kept it there. He didn’t perform at the audience; he performed with them. The back-and-forth was constant, the connection felt genuine, and nobody in that showroom was just sitting there watching.

During his set, Mabasa was surprised with a certificate of recognition from the Philippine Honorary Consulate of Arizona. Honorary Consul Jenny Ho-Vijungco recognized Mabasa for his extraordinary talent, unwavering dedication to music, and for sharing his artistry with the Filipino American community in the U.S. Southwest. Before closing, she added: “We are behind you. We are proud of you.”

Misalucha performed the main set of the evening. As a veteran performer who has headlined major stages from Manila to Las Vegas, her performance gave local fans a chance to experience her vocal range in person — the kind that has kept her name on marquees for decades. She moved through her set with the confidence of someone who has owned rooms far bigger. The night also included sing-along moments that pulled the audience in and made the whole thing feel less like a concert and more like a shared experience.

Mabasa joined Misalucha for a duet as she came on, a smooth handoff between the two headliners. Later in the program, they came together once more for one final duet before the night closed out.

Sponsors and VIP guests kicked things off earlier with a meet-and-greet before general admission doors opened. Producers from LARAS Media Productions, along with co-producers Fleur Magbanua and Jess Siozon, thanked sponsors and the community for making the night possible, and confirmed that Love Notes in the Desert was just the first of many shows planned in the near future.

Those who were there said it plainly: “sobrang galing,” “goosebumps,” “worth the drive.” Mark Mabasa himself called it a party. He wasn’t wrong.

What People Said

Couples, families, and friends who filled the showroom that night left with plenty to talk about. The performances landed the way live music is supposed to — you felt it in the room. For a lot of people there, it was exactly the Valentine’s night they came for.

Love Notes in the Desert added another standout night to the growing list of Filipino concerts in the Valley.
