DATE/TIME:
10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 24

LOCATION:
Saigon Center, 2051 N. Arizona Ave., Chandler AZ 85225

EVENT:
Filipino cultural & social organizations and small businesses from around the Valley of the Sun welcome everyone in the community to join together for a celebration of Filipino Americans and The Philippines’ colorful traditions during the 12th Annual Filipino Festival of the East Valley, a signature event by the Filipino-American Asian Business Chamber of Commerce of Arizona (FABCCA East) in cooperation NaFFAA AZ Chapter, SEVFAF, AIFFA, POWGALC, Phoenix Barangay Lions, LeySam of AZ, Leyte Dance Theater and LARAS Media International.

Admission to the six-hour festival event is free.

The public is invited to experience Filipino culture and history, including dance and music performances, games, activities, and a variety of traditional food offerings. The Philippines marks its 125th Independence Day on Monday, June 12, and the local festival is an extension of that commemoration for local residents of Filipino heritage.

To cap off the day, the Saigon Center will host a special performance by The Philippines’ renowned Leyte Dance Theatre. The troupe is celebrating its 30th year of traveling the world and sharing traditional and dramatic dances that portray the history of the many cultural influences that have shaped the history of The Philippines. This special presentation is made possible by the valuable support of major sponsors Casino Arizona and MegaWorld International.

The dance performance is titled “Padayaw,” which translates in English as “Continue Dancing.” The presentation in Chandler is one of just 11 U.S. tour stops for the 22 performers of the Leyte Dance Theatre, which is on its first tour of the United States since 2018.

Tickets are required for admission to the 6 p.m. program, with general admission priced at $30; admission for children 12 and under is $15, VIP $50, and Sponsor $100. Tickets will be available at the June 24 Filipino Festival or may be purchased in advance by calling Charmel – 480 371 5436 / Jess – 480 851 0380 / Maria – 480 650 0075 / Jovet – 929 247 9069 / Nattie – 623 466 4515.
