FAMAZ Fosters Community Spirit Through Its Recent Activities
The Filipino American Marriage-Group of Arizona (FAMAZ) has once again demonstrated its commitment to fostering a strong community spirit through its recent activities. These events have not only brought local community members closer but have also extended a helping hand to those in need abroad.
On September 8th, FAMAZ volunteers collaborated with the non-profit organization, Feed My Starving Children, to pack nutritious meals for the hungry. This event saw members of FAMAZ and the local community coming together to contribute to a global cause. The shared experience of packing meals for the less fortunate fostered a sense of unity and purpose among the volunteers. Learn more about this event
FAMAZ also organized its 14th Annual Christmas Toy Drive which took place on September 23rd at Lutong Bahay Filipino-Asian Restaurant. The event, themed “Sharing is Loving,” invited community members to donate new or slightly used toys for children in the Philippines. The drive, which ran from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, successfully collected 200 toys, ensuring that 200 children will have a brighter Christmas this year. Organizers expressed gratitude for the support received from shipping sponsors like the Council of Filipino Organizations of Arizona (CFO), Forex Cargo, Atlas Shippers, and Chikka Magazine, which will ensure the toys reach the children in time for Christmas. The owners of Lutong Bahay, Ramon and Grace Go, were also thanked for providing a venue for this noble cause. For those who missed the event, FAMAZ has announced a last drop-off on October 21 during a its upcoming Annual Fall Picnic. Official event announcement
